The first French bulldog in the United States had its appearance in 1896 during the Westminster Kennel Club Show and enchanted all the public, who nicknamed it “Frenchie”, used until today. In 1989, the American Kennel Club sponsored a large dog show exclusively for that breed.

Bulldogs are very loving towards their human family, but they also always expect the return of that affection and will probably charge delicately by supporting their paws. However, if you are looking for a pet to accompany you on adventures and sports, it probably won’t be as excited about activities.

Coexistence

Very good-natured and playful, these dogs need their guardians to be firm and patient with their characteristic antics. Despite this way, they don’t have that much energy; a little activity time a day is enough to be satisfied and happy.

Socialization

Although they are very friendly and docile, they can have territorial and possessive signs in relation to their human companions, especially if there are other dogs in the environment. Therefore, it is important to encourage Bulldogs’ contact with other pets from an early age.
